Chikura and Shirahama, Minamiboso City, Chiba
We offer three holiday houses in Chikura and Shirahama, Minamiboso City, Chiba. Each house is rented to one group at a time, so your family or group has it all to itself.
Play in the rock pools by the sea, then have a BBQ together. All three houses have a BBQ space on the property.
Check-in is at 3:00 pm and check-out is at 10:00 am.
The three houses differ in shape and size. Please choose one that suits your group and how you want to spend your stay.
Chikura
For those who want to gaze quietly at the sea and the stars
A light-blue two-story house on a hill, a 3-minute walk from the sea. It is a 7-minute walk from Chitose Station on the JR Uchibo Line, so you can also come by train.
From the windows, you can watch the sun rise over the horizon. There are also a hammock and an astronomical telescope.
Shirahama
For families, relatives, or two or three families staying together
A three-story house with an orange triangular roof, near Nojimazaki Lighthouse. The rocky shore is a 3-minute walk away.
The 1st floor has a 24-tatami living, dining and kitchen area and a 9-tatami Japanese-style room. The 2nd floor is a 20-tatami hall with a projector and screen.
Shirahama (Takiguchi)
For families with young children
A new two-story house built in May 2024 for families with children. From the 16-tatami living room on the 2nd floor, you can look out over the horizon.
The living room closet doubles as a big toy box. There are three Western-style rooms on the 1st floor, so each family can have its own room.

Families with children stay at all three houses. Each house has its own places for children to play.
The living room closet at OCEAN KIDS MINT doubles as a big toy box. It holds a children's tent, an astronomical telescope, a planetarium set, a balance beam, games and more.
The 3rd floor of OCEAN RESORT MINT is an attic-like room of 6.8 tatami mats. It has a children's tent, so kids can play as if in a secret hideout.
OCEAN VILLA MINT has a hammock and an astronomical telescope. On clear nights, you can look at the stars through the telescope.
Each of the three houses has one baby futon set.
Besides the sea in summer, Minamiboso has something to enjoy in every season. Families can have fun here outside summer too.
January to March
You can pick flowers in the flower fields of Shiramazu and Chida. The season is from early January to late March in Shiramazu, and to late April in Chida (Minamiboso City tourism guide).

Late December to early May
You can pick strawberries at places such as the Shirahama Strawberry Picking Center.

July and August
In 2026, Minami-Chikura Beach and Nemoto Beach were open for swimming from July 17 to August 16. In July, the Shirahama Ama (women divers) Festival is held in front of Nojimazaki Lighthouse.
All year round
You can climb to the top of Nojimazaki Lighthouse. The area around the lighthouse is a spot for stargazing, and the stars are especially beautiful in winter.

You can have a BBQ on the property at all three houses. We also recommend grilling fish bought at a local fishmonger. In winter, the fish is especially good, and you can go fishing with your children and grill your catch. The nearest fishing tackle shop is about 20 minutes away by car.
You can have a BBQ in the covered garage or on the beach, a 3-minute walk away.
There is a covered BBQ area and a lawn garden.
The backyard has a BBQ space that is hard to see from the street.
At all three houses, we lend a BBQ grill, grill net and tongs free of charge. Please bring your own charcoal and firewood.
You can also choose a catered BBQ in partnership with moe cafe. Their staff take care of everything from setting up and grilling to cleaning up. The basic plan costs ¥6,000 to ¥10,000 per person. Advance reservation is required.

Payment is by credit card in advance only. The card you register when booking is charged automatically 3 days before check-in. For bookings made within 3 days of check-in, it is charged right after booking. Payment on site is not available.
Yes. VILLA has space for 2 cars (1 outdoor, 1 in the garage), RESORT for 2 cars and KIDS for 3 cars. There is also a free public car park near KIDS.

Each of the three houses has one baby futon set.
You may set off fireworks on the property, but please do not use aerial fireworks. Please finish by around 8:00 pm and put everything out completely with water before throwing it away.

Yes, there is a supermarket near all three houses. Odoya Chikura is 3 to 5 minutes by car from VILLA, and Odoya Shirahama is 3 to 5 minutes by car from KIDS.
OCEAN MINT began with a holiday home we bought in Minamiboso to spend our weekends at.
It was a place to get away from busy days in the city and relax.
There, we would spend whole days just gazing at the sea.
We wanted people who work just as hard every day to enjoy this luxurious time too.
So in September 2022, we opened our first holiday rental.
As we came to Minamiboso almost every weekend, our son went from a pale city schoolboy to a suntanned, energetic boy all year round.
In summer, we collected insects, watched the stars at Nojimazaki Lighthouse, and caught fish in the rock pools.
We hoped that city families like ours could enjoy the nature of Minamiboso too, so we also opened a cottage for families.
All three houses are about 30 minutes by car from Tomiura Interchange on the Tateyama Expressway.
